field trips are proposed. The number of participants is limited, please
contact us to make sure that you get a seat
(later candidates will be put on a waiting list).
Note that one trip will be organised on MONDAY and
two on FRIDAY
An historical journey along
the Chao Phraya River (between Ayutthaya and Bangkok),
with comments and discussions about the areas traveled across by
Acharn Charnvit Kasetsiri
(an estimated
fee of 500 baht will be requested at the beginning of the trip).

MONDAY 11th, at 8:00, in front of the Conference Venue at Kasetsart University, Bangkhen Campus
* Trip by bus to Ayutthaya
* Visit of Wat Chai Watthanaram and Wat Phrasi Sanpet and Royal Palace
* Visit of the Chao Sam Phraya National Museum
* Visit Ayutthaya Historical Studies Center
* Lunch
* Transfer to Tha Rua Bang Sai
* Boat trip to Bangkok (arrival around 17:30)

Film
and drawing contest
Teenagers studying in schools located along the Chao Phraya river
will be proposed to participate to a photo and drawing contest which
theme is : "The Chao Phraya river : your vision of its beauty or importance
for the region".
Students from
faculties of journalism, associated with students in French or English
languages, will present 3' short reportages on various issues, including

Mae nam Chao Phraya river, tradition and modernism
* "Floating salemen": commerce along the river
* River tourism in the capital
* The garbage boat and the information campaign
* Life is a long quiet river
* Cleaning the river
* A river of life, from mural paintings
* Old man reflections along the river
* The Chao Phraya, a royal river
A panel of judges,
including members of the Scientific Committee, will deliberate during
the Conference to set a ranking of the film and drawings received.
Prizes will awarded to the winners.
The contest is organised in collaboration with the Linguistic
Attache of the French Embassy
